It doesn’t get any bigger or better than this. Few would have projected a game five in both NLDS series’ heading in to this postseason, but after the St. Louis Cardinals and Arizona Diamondbacks were both able to battle back in their respective series, we have arrived at a one-game MLB playoff for both series’ in order to determine which teams will advance to the NLCS.
Arizona Diamondbacks @ Milwaukee Brewers

This series has truly been a case of the home team dominating, as the fact that neither pay per head team played well on the road this season has carried over to the playoffs. That could very well be the case in the finale as well with the Brewers sending Yovani Gallardo to the mound on Friday to counter Ian Kennedy for Arizona, after the latter was tagged for all four Milwaukee runs in a game one loss. The Brewers have the power to get to Kennedy again at home, and as long as Gallardo can handle the pressure of a one-game playoff, Milwaukee should be able to clinch this game.

St. Louis Cardinals @ Philadelphia Phillies
Friday, 8:37 PM ET
Despite how well he has performed in his two sports betting years with the Phillies, there will be a ton of pressure on Roy Halladay heading in to this game with Philadelphia’s entire season on his shoulders, and if the Cardinals get to him early he could falter. St. Louis will go with Chris Carpenter for the finale even though he allowed four earned runs in just three innings of work in a game that the Cardinals won anyway earlier in the series. This game will come down to which pitcher makes the bigger mistake, and it likely will be the one with the most pressure on him that falters.
